The Creek Visits
26.08.26 - diary entry
I went on a walk to the creek yesterday
and spoke with Mother Nature.
She showed me something wonderful
A leaf to look through, a new lens
to view the world from her eyes.
The wind picked up
as I whispered for her forgiveness;
a melody carried its way into my ears
This golden stream of light came down.
It lit up spider webs and dancing bugs;
I wasn’t alone after all.
As I looked through the leaf,
the creek began to dim.
I felt a little goblin hiding
shy behind the tree stumps.
‘Come this way’
As I got up to follow his voice,
I felt a swarm of magenta faeries
swirling behind me; they said
I’d gone too far…
Around I turned, and there it was:
a hollow cave within the tree
I took a breath of leafy damp air
and stuck my head in to see
There sat a forest man’s face,
his eyes closed and yawning
Yawning, and so peaceful
I sang the creek melody
to his sleeping self
and marvelled at the beauty of this experience.
